Spinning

Cynthia has been spinning wool since she moved here from Massachusetts in 1976. She

A variety of colorful yarns spun by members of the Wednesday Spinners at their retreat

and her husband bought a few sheep and she bought a drop spindle and spinning wheel and has been passionate about spinning since. Her romney-cross black and white sheep give her and the apprentices plenty of fleece to keep them busy for the year. The white fleece is dyed using indigo, weld, madder, other natural dyes, as well as Telana acid dyes.

Most of her yarn is bulky two ply yarn which is idea for knitting outdoor sweaters and hats and is available for sale in the Darthia Farm Store and Mail Order business.
